THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF THE RED CROSS(ICRC)
TheInternational Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial, neutral andindependent organization whose exclusively humanitarian mission is to protectthe lives and dignity of victims of armed conflicts and other situations ofviolence and to provide them with assistance. It directs and coordinates theinternational relief activities conducted by the International Red Cross andRed Crescent Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavours to preventsuffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universalhumanitarian principles.
The ICRC RegionalDelegation in Bangkok is looking for a:
Field Officer basedin Chiang Mai
Main tasks:

Closely assisted by the HoO, keeps and developscontact with relevant Thai authorities (Army, Police, Civilian authorities,Thai Red Cross)
·
Establishes and develops contacts with representativesof NGO's and International organizations
·
Represents and promotes the ICRC's activities
·
Attends meetings with HoO or alone and reports inwritten manner accordingly
·
Manages specific administrative tasks
Minimum qualificationsand experience:
University degree or equivalent, preferably in the domain of law, political science, sociology or international relations
2 years work experience in a similar field
·
Goodunderstanding of the political, social and cultural environment alongThai-Myanmar border
Very good command of written and spoken English
Good communication and analytical skills
Able to work independently and travel extensively within the area covered
Very Good computer skills in both Word and Excel
Holds a valid driver license
Team-player, multi-task and flexible
